WhatsApp: New Request Contact Info Card for Chatbot

Supported channel: WhatsApp only

With Meta's transition, business can no longer rely on users' phone numbers being shared automatically on WhatsApp. To help you continue collecting customer contact information, we've introduced a new Request Contact Info card on chatbot.

What's new:

Add the Request Contact Info card to your chatbot flow and customize the message to let customers know why you're requesting their contact information. Once they share, Omnichat automatically updates the customer's profile with their name and phone number after receiving the WhatsApp contact webhook, making customer identification and CRM workflows seamless.

1. Setting the Request Contact Info Card

Add the Get Contact Info message card to your chatbot flow. When triggered, customers can share their contact information with you(name/phone number).

The Request Contact Info card is supported in:

• Conversations

  • Saved Reply

  • Auto Reply

• Broadcasts

  • Broadcast messages using Saved Reply

• Journeys

Select the "Request Contact Info" message card

2. Customer Experience

When customers receive the Get Contact Info card, they can tap Share Contact Info to share their phone number and name through WhatsApp.

End User View: Type a keyword to trigger the Request Contact Info card.

3. Receive Customer Contact Details

Once the customer shares their contact info, Omnichat automatically updates the contact profile with their phone number and name, allowing your team to identify and continue engaging with the customer.

⚠️Limitations

• Additional Actions are not supported: Actions such as Add Tag and Set Custom Attribute cannot be configured for this chatbot message card.

• The button label cannot be customized. WhatsApp automatically displays the official button text based on each customer's device language (for example, Share Contact Info in English).

• Only the message body is supported. Titles and footers are not available for this card type.

Broadcast Detail Lists Now Display BSUID

Broadcast detail lists now display both the BSUID and Phone Number for each recipient, helping you identify customers under WhatsApp's new identification mechanism.
