# Omnichat WhatsApp Business API Setup

How to create your WhatsApp Business API account from the Omnichat pannel

### Step 1: Go to “Channel” > “Messenger Integration” > click “Connect WhatsApp Business API Account”

### Step 2: Pop-up browser will be shown. If the displayed Facebook personal account shows your name, please click "Continue" and then press "Get Started".

## Step 3: Select the required Meta Business account, fill in the legal business name and business website or profile page and click “Next”

### If you need to modify the information that was filled in at that time, please refer to: Meta Business Suite -> Settings on the left menu -> More Enterprise Management Platform Settings -> Meta Business Suite Data.

Business information must be fully completed once you start the "edit" process.

### Step 4: Create a **WhatsApp Business Profile**.

### 4-1: Enter a WhatsApp Business Account name, better to use the same name as your existing WhatsApp business account name.

### 4-2: Enter the **WhatsApp Business Display Name**

**WhatsApp Business Display Name** will be shown to customers, so please input carefully

**The WhatsApp Business display name should match the official company name. If it is a brand name or another name, please provide the official website to prove the submitted display name is related to your official company name.**

### 4-3 **Select a category, fill in the business description and website**

Select the industry category via the pull-down menu. Edit business profile is optional

### Step 5: Enter a WhatsApp phone number which you prefer to register

Verification can be completed via SMS or through a voice call. Both mobile phone numbers and local number both can be used.

If you see the error message in the image below, it means that the phone number you are currently using has already applied for a WhatsApp user account or business account. You will need to [delete the number from the previous account](https://faq.whatsapp.com/2138577903196467/?cms_platform=android\&cms_id=2138577903196467\&draft=false) before you can continue to apply for a WhatsApp Business API account.

### Step 6: Enter a 6-digit verification code after receiving a 6-digit verification text message or verification call

### Step 7: Back to Omnichat panel

Go back to the Omnichat panel and go to "Channels" -> “Messenger Integration” -> click on the WhatsApp integration. You will find the WhatsApp account number you just set up, and then click "Connect Phone Number".

The approval status will show “None” once you complete the integration. Please click “Connect”, and the approval status will be changed from “None” to “Approved”.<br>

For the account verification process, 1－2 working days are required, please go back to the setting page of the Social Integration Page to confirm the verification result accordingly

### Step 8: Your WhatsApp Business API Account registration is completed.
