# Instagram integration with Omnichat

## How to integrate Instagram to Omnichat?

### Requirements:

1. Make sure you have a Business Account on Instagram (For setting method, please refer to: <https://help.instagram.com/502981923235522> ）
   * **Remarks: "Creator Account" cannot be integrated**
   * In Instagram App, please click Settings > Account > Switch account type, to confirm the type of your account. If your account is **"Business Account",** it will appear **"Personal Account"** or **"Creater Account"**

2. Please integrate your Instagram account into your Facebook page (Refer to: <https://www.facebook.com/business/help/connect-instgram-to-page>)
3. You should be **Administrator** of your Facebook page
4. In Instagram App, please click Settings > Privacy > Messages
   * Under "Connected Tools" section, Enable "Allow access to messages"
   * Under "Potential connections" section, Change "People who've chatted with your Page on Facebook" & "People who like or follow your Page on Facebook" to "Don't Receive"
   * Under "Other People" section, Change "People on Facebook" to "Don't Receive"

### Steps of Integration

1. Log in to [Omnichat Admin](https://app.omnichat.ai/)
2. Go to "Channels" > **"**[**Messenger Integration**](https://app.omnichat.ai/integration.html)**"**
3. Open "Instagram Messaging Integration" > Click "Connect your Facebook account"

1. **If you have integrated your Facebook page to Omnichat already, Please use the same Facebook page to integrate with Instagram**
2. <mark style="color:red;">**Integration is currently supported only on a PC or laptop. The integration steps cannot be completed on a mobile device.**</mark>

4\. Click "Connect your Instagram account", and the Facebook pop-up window will be shown, then click "Continue as XXX"

5\. Tick the Instagram account for integration, then click "Next"

6\. Tick the connected Facebook page's Instagram account, then click "Next"

**Remarks: If you have another Facebook page integrated to Omnichat, please do not untick the connected Facebook page, otherwise the integration will be disabled**

7\. Confirm to authorise Omnichat, then click "Done"

**Remarks: Please do not disable the authority of the following access, otherwise the function of Omnichat will be affected**

8\. After the authorisation is completed, click "OK"

9\. The successful authorised Instagram account will display under "Connect Other Instagram Business Accounts". Then, please click "connect" and confirm the integration. Once the integration is completed, that Instagram account will be displayed under "Integrated IG Account"

If you cannot see your integrated Instagram account, please check:

* Are you the Admin of the Facebook page of the connected Instagram account?
* In step 6, have you ticked the Facebook page which is connected with your Instagram account already?

## How to reauthorise

Facebook's authorisation will be invalid for the following reasons, which will affect the function of Omnichat:

* The user, who has responded to authorise, changed the login password
* The user, who has responded to authorise, opens the double verification
* Facebook detects the abnormal behaviour of the user, and cancel the authorisation automatically

If you see the below error on Omnichat, please reauthorise the Instagram account permission

You can reauthorise Instagram by the following steps:

1. Log in to [Omnichat Admin](https://app.omnichat.ai/)
2. Go to "Channels" > "[**Messenger Integration"**](https://app.omnichat.ai/integration.html)
3. Open **Instagram Messaging Integration**
4. Under "**Integrated IG Account**", click "Disconnect" to disconnect the Instagram account which needs to reauthorise

5\. After disconnecting, click "Connect your Instagram Account"

6\. Click "Continue as XXX" to complete the reauthorisation

7\. After successful the reauthorisation, the Instagram account will appear under "Integrated IG Account", then click "Connect" to complete the reauthorisation

If "Connect Other Instagram Business Accounts" has not displayed the Instagram account you want to integrate, please go to step 6 and click the "edit setting" to check whether you tick the Instagram account and Facebook page which is connected with the Instagram account

## Cannot receive messages through Omnichat after integration?

1. Under Facebook page Setting, disconnect Instagram to Facebook page

2\. Reconnect Instagram to Facebook page

3\. Go to Facebook Page > Setting > Advanced message, then delete Omnichat

4\. After deletion, please reconnect Facebook page and Instagram in Omnichat
