# Custom Attributes (CDP subscription plan only)

1. Using: List of custom attributes that are currently in use.
2. Archive: List of custom attributes that are currently deactivated.
3. Search Custom Attribute: Enter the display name or attribute key to search existing custom attributes.
4. Create Custom Attribute: Add a new custom attribute.
5. Action: Editing, archiving, activating, and deleting the custom attribute.

## Create Custom Attribute

1. Attribute Key:
   1. This should be a unique value. Can contain letters, numbers, and underscores. Also, it is case-sensitive. For example, member\_points, member Points.
   2. The attribute key is also used as the header when importing client information as a custom attribute during contact import.
2. Type: Data type can be text, number, date, date & time, or boolean (Yes / No).
   1. Text: if an information with a combination of text and number, it's suggested to use "text" type.
   2. Date: Please note that the supported formats are **“**<mark style="color:red;">**YYYY/MM/DD**</mark>**”** or **“**<mark style="color:red;">**YYYY-MM-DD**</mark>**”**.
   3. Time: Please note that the supported formats are **“**<mark style="color:red;">**HH:mm**</mark>**”** or **“**<mark style="color:red;">**HH:mm:ss**</mark>**”**
3. Display Name: The display name of this custom attribute. This field is optional. If not filled, the attribute key will be used for display.
4. Description: A description of the purpose of this custom attribute. This field is optional. If not filled, it will be displayed as blank.

## Delete Custom Attribute

* **Archive Before Deletion:** \
  To delete a custom attribute, you must archive it first. The delete action is only available within the Archive list.
* **System Processing Time:** \
  It takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes for the system to fully process the deletion. A notification prompt will appear when you initiate the deletion. Please check back after 10 to 15 minutes to confirm the deletion status.
