# Custom variable for Chatbot (add-on feature).

Custom variables can record customers' text replies or personal data from other system providers by API integration or customer answers. It helps not only your CRM system but also better understanding

### Chatbot Settings

In addition to designing questions for customers to reply, custom variables can be used to record customer information through the Chatbot card.

**Key**: Custom field name

**Value**: Enter the stored value

You can save customers' reply into following types

* Text
* Number
* Date
* Date & Time
* Yes / No

Text cards, Carousel cards, Quick Reply cards, and User input cards.
