# Facebook Recurring Notification Card (Facebook Only)

Supported Platform: Facebook, Instagram (Note: Instagram’s messaging channel is not supported.)

### What is Facebook Recurring Notification?

Facebook’s 24-hour rule allows brands to send marketing messages only to customers who have interacted with their page within the past 24 hours. Once this period ends, brands can no longer send marketing messages.

To help brands stay connected and continue sharing marketing content, such as product recommendations or special offers, Facebook offers **Recurring Notifications.**

This feature allows brands to send messages to subscribed customers even after the 24-hour window has passed.

For more details on Facebook’s marketing broadcast rules, please refer to [Meta's official document](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/marketing-messages?locale=en_US).

1. **Button Name:** In the Omnichat console, the button name is "Message received" and cannot be modified. Customers will see it as "Resume updates" in Facebook Messenger.
2. **Reply after subscription:** Once customers click the opt-in button, the designated block will be sent as a reply to them but it cannot direct them to [system default blocks](https://en-docs.omnichat.ai/~/changes/332/features/marketing/bot-builder-2.0/system-default-block).
3. **Additional Actions:** Once customers opt in, tags will be automatically added to them.

**Important Notices When Using This Feature:**

* **Subscription Management on the Customer’s Side**: Customers can manage their subscription notifications anytime in the Messenger app, including canceling or resuming them.
* **Message Delivery Limitations**: While you can regularly send messages to customers, some messages may still fail to send for certain reasons. E.g., if your Facebook fan page has a low engagement rate (measured by unique daily active users), Facebook may restrict message delivery, so some messages might not be sent successfully.
* **Subscription Reminder Limits**: Facebook's official documentation states that there are limitations on the number of subscription reminders that can be sent to the same customer. You can send up to **10 reminders within 7 days** and up to **5 reminders within 1 day**. If your fan page's interaction rate is low, these limits may be further reduced.
* **Broadcast Frequency:** Facebook recurring notification broadcasts are best sent **once per day (every 24 hours)**. Once customers subscribe, they will continue to receive notifications until they manually unsubscribe.
* **Chatbot Message Restrictions**: If you're using a chatbot module for Facebook's recurring notifications, the message can **only include one card**. Any extra cards (text or images) will be sent as standard messages and follow [Facebook's 24-hour messaging policy](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/policy/policy-overview/#standard_messaging).
 {% endhint %}
