# Remarketing Messages: Campaign Trigger Priority

Imagine a potential customer browsing your website. They might trigger messages from several remarketing campaigns which were set up on the platform. To avoid overwhelming them with information overload, only one message will be displayed.

This section outlines the priority rules that determine which message gets displayed:

1. **Visited Page:**
   * The system prioritizes **messages triggered by visits to specific pages** over those triggered by any page visit. This ensures highly relevant messages are shown based on the visitors' specific browsing behavior. For example, a message reminding someone about a product they viewed on a specific page would take priority over a generic message about a sale.
2. **Visit Frequency:**
   * Messages triggered by visitors with a **higher visit frequency take precedence**. This means visitors who return to your site more often will see messages tailored to their ongoing engagement. Someone who visits your site multiple times in a short period might see a message encouraging them to complete a purchase, while a less frequent visitor might see a more general brand awareness message.
3. **Creation Time:**
   * If the message trigger **conditions are equa**l (e.g., both messages target any page visit and the visitors' visit frequency is similar for both campaigns), the **message with the later creation time** will be displayed. This ensures your most recent and potentially most relevant campaign messages are prioritized.

Here's an example of how this works in real life:

Imagine a potential customer visiting your website and you have set up 2 campaigns to run simultaneously on the platform:

* **Campaign A:** Triggers a message if a visitor visits any page.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2FnDnSyIcsbITjTEjjRviL%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a549e0ab-572b-4563-ada8-caadee3f522d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
* **Campaign B:** Triggers a message if a visitor visits the product page for a specific item they viewed earlier.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2FYg1qNXkkbG5bSejARjfv%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=df67dc56-f31d-4c50-b67d-16b5f35cfb63" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In this scenario, Campaign B's message would be displayed because it has the highest priority based on the "Visited Page" rule. It targets a specific page visit which takes precedence over generic page visits and messages from earlier campaigns.

By prioritizing messages based on these criteria, you ensure your visitors see the most relevant and timely message, maximizing the effectiveness of your remarketing efforts while maintaining a positive user experience.
