# Remarketing Messages: Actions

## **Trigger Actions: Engaging When Conditions Are Met**

In the previous section, you defined when your remarketing messages should appear based on your visitors' behavior. Now, let's explore the different actions you can take **once those conditions are met**. This is where you engage with your audience and influence their actions.

<figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2FrfY4LvbAzV2CFTKrnHZ0%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=243c4c1e-9d04-4ee6-8e6c-78735979f406" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Actions Settings: Available Triggers

There are 4 different actions available. They are:

* **Applying Customer Tags:** Assign relevant tags to users based on their website behaviour. These tags can be used for further segmentation and personalization in future campaigns.
* **Sending the Remarketing Messages on Your Website (One-Time Website Message):** Trigger a one-time message that appears directly on your website, reminding users about specific products or offers.
* **Sending the Remarketing Messages Through Social Channels (One-Time Third-Party Message):** Send a one-time message to users outside your website through platforms like Facebook Messenger, LINE, or WhatsApp.

{% hint style="info" %}
Only subscribed contacts can receive Remarketing Messages through Social Channels!
{% endhint %}

* **Adding the Remarketing Messages in Journey:** This option allows you to integrate your remarketing messages into a larger journey workflow, as a trigger for other actions within the workflow to encourage conversions.

Let's look at the available actions and how they can be used to complement your earlier set-up.

### Customer Tags

Selecting this option means that once your visitors meet the conditions that you have configured, the tag(s) which you have added in this option will be added onto their contact profile. This option is great on its own if you would like to know your visitors' interests without further action, so that you may segment them for future promotional Broadcasts.

{% hint style="info" %}
Ensure that you press "Enter" to add the tag every time you type a word.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2FQ9igyESJ8DXaV1n2838f%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=3bfe71cd-da0b-4ae3-9241-c9aa0d79d383" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The beauty of Omnichat is that you can combine actions! Notice the "Add Action" button after Customer Tags. This lets you pair it with other options, such as Remarketing Messages on Website as well as Remarketing Through Social Channel Broadcast. You can also add both actions if you would like to.

This way, you can tag your visitors based on their behaviour and simultaneously engage them with a relevant message.

### Remarketing Messages on Website

This option lets you trigger a one-time message that appears directly on your website above your chat widget, reminding visitors about specific products or offers. It's a great way to re-engage website visitors who meet your defined conditions and nudge them towards a desired action.

<figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2FgBaffapoFMOHzF1j70a5%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=799728e6-7fa7-4e9c-a9ef-14d488a28c42" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can send text, image, or video messages.

#### **Crafting Your Message Content:**

* **Text Message:** This is the most common option. Here, you can write your compelling message directly within Omnichat. The preview section on the left will show you how it will appear to your visitors.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2FiWdDDfNBk6caMsXuzyiL%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=3491a8c4-83cf-4b46-a03f-016cd9896c7f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
* **Image Message:** You can also consider using an eye-catching image to grab attention and enhance your message.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2FVp7bpxWZFnWDXcU2NKj1%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=5e281909-a58c-4ede-9113-254c2c4ad403" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

  * You can redirect your visitors to a landing page as well once they click on the appended image. If you choose to do this, consider activating Omnichat UTM parameters (refer [here](/en/features/marketing-automation/remarketing-messages-2.0/remarketing-messages-actions/activating-omnichat-utm-parameters.md) for more information).

{% hint style="info" %}

* If you choose "Image", it is recommended to upload images in the ratio of 1.91 : 1 (e.g. 955px \* 500px)
* If you want to create a better mobile user experience, it is suggested to upload images in a square ratio (e.g. 500 px \* 500 px)
  {% endhint %}

- **Video Message:** For an even more engaging experience, use a video message. You will have to first upload the video on YouTube. Ensure that you paste the full URL and not a shortened one.
- To use YouTube Shorts, please replace "shorts" with "embed" in the URL.

  For example: <https://www.youtube.com/`shorts`/XXXXXX\\>
  should be changed to: <https://www.youtube.com/`embed`/XXXXXX><br>

  <figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2FdsL433ZE7BQ9wlRmknub%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a06bd352-cc8b-4998-9966-c30af09376a2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

To end this section, here are some key points to consider:

* **Customize your message:** Craft compelling copy that resonates with your audience and highlights the value proposition of your offer.
* **Target strategically:** Since the message appears on your website, you can leverage the visitor's browsing behavior to personalize the message content.
* **Call-to-Action (CTA):** Include a clear and enticing CTA that prompts visitors to take the next step, whether it's visiting a separate product page or making a purchase.

### Remarketing Messages through Social Channel Broadcast

This option lets you send a one-time message to users outside your website through platforms like Facebook Messenger, LINE, or WhatsApp. It's a powerful way to reconnect with website visitors who haven't converted yet and potentially nudge them towards a purchase or desired action.

{% hint style="info" %}
Only subscribed contacts can receive Remarketing Messages through Social Channels! Make sure your messenger audience have first subscribed to you before selecting this option.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2F63AwxtcihE0d7KWs2wGo%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=ff45df72-0833-4f45-bf86-0e8873ee7fdb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Omnichannel Journey

The final option lets you integrate your remarketing messages into a larger **Journey**. This powerful feature allows you to trigger automated workflows that leads to various actions based on your visitors' behaviour.

Here's how it works:

* **Navigate to Journey:** Locate the Journeys section within the Omnichat platform. This feature is found under "Advanced Automation". Once there, create a new journey.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2Fw3PhSNu0lJXN9V1GCSaM%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=db795b30-287d-43bb-ab4a-1fe8f3d6bc76" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
* **Set Trigger Condition (System Features):** Within the newly created Journey, define the trigger condition as "System Features". This triggers the workflow based on events within the system, in this case, the fulfillment of your pre-configured Remarketing Messages 2.0 conditions.
* **Define Subsequent Actions:** After setting the trigger, configure the subsequent actions that will be executed within the Journey. These actions can include:
  * **Adding Tags:** Assign relevant tags to user profiles based on their behaviour, enabling further segmentation for future campaigns.
  * **Sending Messages:** Trigger various types of messages, such as reminders, images, etc.
  * **Creating Segmentation Filters:** Establish additional segmentation filters within the Journey workflow for more granular targeting.
  * **Updating Custom Attributes (if available):** Modify user profile data with custom attributes based on their behaviour.

{% hint style="info" %}
Refer to [Journey](/en/features/marketing/journey-add-on-module.md) for more details!
{% endhint %}

* Publish your settings. Your Journey will appear as "In Progress".<br>

  <figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2FmD3duslh8X64flMdRTE9%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=7aef860c-5128-40e1-98d7-5f7b3b6c3403" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. **Return to Remarketing Messages 2.0:** After defining your workflow within the Journey, return to the Remarketing Messages 2.0 configuration section.
2. **Select Omnichannel Journey:** Locate the "Actions" section within the Remarketing Messages 2.0 settings. Choose "Omnichannel Journey" as the action you want to trigger.<br>

   <figure><img src="https://2848678129-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3u2I1osIy6mEi07X1z46%2Fuploads%2FLAZ1FTcIU1Y8dfvo51M5%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=956cc9d9-5fce-4343-a43a-aa4fe88c2481" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
